I'm a 26 year old African American and Colombian single mother to a wonderfully charismatic 6 year old daughter. I gave birth to my daughter at 19, and I could have chosen to become a victim of my circumstances, but I wanted more for myself, and my daughter. And so I worked, and I sacrificed, and I rose above the statistics, I didn't let anything or anyone stand in my way.
