Some of The Best Advice I Ever Received

Choosing the subject to write on your first post is like choosing the right outfit for a first date. No topic is good enough for the first one. Finally I chose one. My intention is not to bog you all down with popular or funny quotes instead I wanted to write about those advices that stayed with me. There are plenty of wise quotes and advices all around us. However the ones that stay are those you hear or read at the opportune moment when you needed them the most. Of course these are retold in my words the way I understand, remember and recall.

  • We need friends of all ages. Some younger than you to remind how important it is to have fun. A few in the same age group to share notes on the issues you are currently facing and some older, to tell you time and again that “this too shall pass”. The older ones are those who remind where your real priorities ought to be – Working Mother Magazine on women friendships.
  • When someone instigates you, there is no better way to deal with it than to ignore it and pretend the instigation has no effect on you at all. The reaction we provide is such a motivation for the person who provoked – My grandmother on how to deal with my brothers when I was a pre-teen.
  • Surround yourself with people smarter than you are – My ex boss on recruiting my first team.
  • Your spouse does not have to know everything you think in your head – Fellow blogger on relationships.
  • Do not show your anger. Just use a strong voice to talk – My 8 year old son on how to fight right with my husband.
  • When you want to achieve something badly, you neither second guess yourself nor go around asking for second opinions. You simply do it – My husband on chasing dreams.

Do not forget to add the best advice you received in the comments section.
