So...I'm a Shtty Mom

Yes, those same eyebrow raises you are giving when reading this headline is the same exact expression I had when I first encoutered Sh*tty Mom. The rest is history. I have to admit - I have a tendency to play myself up to other moms, especially those that have it together, you know the married ones, who separate EVERYTHING by color and make it to every single PTA Meeting, and manage to get the laundry done and clothes folded and put away on the same night.

So, every once in a while, I shed a tear when I meet a mom who doesn't have it all together, a.k.a. The Sh*tty Mom. There are days I plant my son in front of his xbox for hours so I can catch up my magazine subscriptions, or feed him fast food every day of the week because 1) it's cheaper and 2) I'm dead tired. This parenting thing is hard - and throw in a divorce, a recent move to a new home, and a job where you travel 70% of the time, for fun.

See for yourself and enjoy some LOLz as well... www.shttymom.com

I wonder the extent to which

I wonder the extent to which those other moms that 'have it together' are playing it up for you. From my experience, no one is perfect, including the married moms who appear to be a perfect mother, career woman and housewife all at the same time. I'm betting that if you were to hypothetically drop by their homes unexpectedly one day with some cupcakes, inviting yourself inside when they come to the door, you'd find a kitchen full of dirty dishes. If you aked to use the restroom while inside, making sure to open the doors to the kids' bedrooms along the way, you'd find a pile of laundry that won't make its way to the washing machine until the weekend. Some people are just better at playing it off as though their home is always in guest-ready form. I seriously doubt any working mother with young child(ren) can get more done in a day than time permits --- at least not if they go to sleep at night.
