My #Workmom Summer Get Fit Program. What's Yours?

Well,

Summer is around the corner. Except, if you live on an island as I do, summer is virtually around every corner. ALL. THE. TIME. However, here are a few of my no fail, works every time, get fit tips that I found that have not only work for me, but everyone else. If I do it for 3 months, I lose between 12-15lbs, which is perfect, because that is what I essentially put on between September and March :)

1) Drink Water - I replace virtually every drink with water - sparkling, room temperature, cold, with lemon/lime...whatever floats your boat. Just drink it.

2) Drink about 6-8oz of water before every meal/snack. Virtually cuts my hunger about 1/3. So, I'm not obliged to stuff myself.

3) Eat in smaller plates. I don't care what I eat, I just take all my meals in a smaller plate, bowl, etc.

4) Eat less rice, bread, meat, sugar, baked goods, etc. Important to note that I do not eliminate these foods from my diet completely, I just really limit it to about 1x or 2x a week. In the same breath, increase your fruit and veggies/salad intake.

5) Get in at least 20-30min of exercise at least 3 days a week. I'm a working mom. I don't have time to workout 5, 6, or 7 times a week. No matter how much I dream about doing so. I can however, sneak in 20-30 min here and there.

6) Do whatever counts as exercise. Walk, run, dance, do Pilates, go outside and throw a football with your child...the point, do whatever works for you so it's not cumbersome.

7) If I want a cupcake, I have A cupcake. Key workd - "A" not 3 or 4, just one cupcake. If you deprive yourself, you end up eating more.

8) I don't get on a scale. It's not important what I weigh, I base my progress on how my clothes feel, how much energy I have and how I feel when I look in the mirror - the stray compliments from passerbys help as well.

9) Be realistic. I don't expect to look like Cindy Crawford in a Swimsuit, but I expect that I look decent in a swimsuit, period. If I am comfortable, then I have succeeded.

If you have any other true, tried and tested workout plans (and FREE), please share!

xoxo,

Rabiah
