Perpetually lost between reality and fantasy, I am a day dreamer and single parent to a very energetic six year old son, and currently relocating back to Sunny St. Croix, USVI where I was born and raised. Raising a boy has been exciting, fun, challenging, frustrating, and requires constant strategic planning! But I love it. He laughs and mocks my obviously girlish ways ("Mom, you can't wear heels to my football games!") but he loves snuggling and drinking hot chocolate as we watch movies.

Happy Valentine's Day, Working Mother.

So, it's true. I'm a romantic. I mean, my favorite movies are Pride and Prejudice, Love Actually and Bridges of Madison County. I love everything about love and all the fun things that come along with it: Chocolate, Diamonds, Flowers, etc. So, in addition to celebrating Valentine's Day on February 14th, I also celebrate my late Grandmother's Birthday and my Parent's Wedding Anniversary. Dad says it was a gift to my grandma to get married on her birthday...we say Cupid shot him :) In either case, whether I have a valentine or not, I am always happy to celebrate with everyone else. 

So, in that spirit, I am wishing all my fellow Working Mothers a very Happy Valentine's Day.
