The dynamics of the traditional family have changed over the last few decades. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), as of 2010, couples in which only the husband worked represented a mere 19% of married-couple families. Additionally, based on the latest BLS American Time Use Survey , women are spending more time working than we are performing household duties. So, since we are spending so much time at work, why not strive to be in a career that will provide the most flexibility, job satisfaction, and competitive pay?I scouted the web to determine which jobs topped lists as the best jobs for women and working moms. In my search, I first reviewed the BLS’s latest report of Women’s Earnings by Occupation (January 2013) to see which occupations were at the top of the list. Then, I reviewed other lists of “best jobs” for women and moms from various sources on the web to see which occupations were topping lists for: competitive pay, flexibility, and career satisfaction. Based on my research, the following occupations have topped a number of lists for being the best jobs for the working mom:
2. Pharmacist
3. Attorney
4. Information Technology Manager
10. School Teacher
