Mom's at WORK???

It can be hard to explain to your 4 year old why mommy is "at work" when technically...she's still in her jammies.

Working from home has VERY clear bennies...I can get the kids up and at 'em every morning...if necessary, I can cook dinner at lunchtime or while on a client call...and there is zero commute (which in DC - means A LOT).

Yet, there are some downsides to being a work from home mom. Sure, the coffee pot is always full and no one eats my Lean Cuisines, but there are negatives there.

Just Because You Can Doesn't Mean You Have to.

Some people have bad hair days. I have bad tech days. And they're getting worse. I won't even start on the problems with the content management system on my website. There's enough tech frustration in day to day life.

Dear Buyer, You're Gonna Love This!

Recently while I was consulting, my client was telling me how she was getting ready to meet with buyers and sell from her samples. J ust a little aside here first... I do recommend selling from samples (prior to manufacturing a big run), as it's economical, safe and leaves room for a buyer to tweak just a little if necessary. You won't be tweaking things for a buyer of a small retail store, however if the buyer of a huge chain store has some suggestions about packaging logistics or little things that she feels will make a difference to the customer, you may consider those requests.

My Life on Relay

My life on Relay has been crazy! I am learning new things every day. Today I will be making jewelry for the first time ever, and I’m the one who bought all the supplies. OK, I had some help from a friend who actually does make jewelry, but just a little.
The American Cancer Society Relay for Life season is here and I decided to help out my church’s Angels for a Cure team in a big way. I’m getting prizes for a raffle and silent auction and coordinating the making of awareness jewelry to sell at the event, which now is only two weeks away.

Mornings Make the Day Okay

I've always been an early riser - that is, until I had kids. I remember as a teenager, I'd get up WAY before the crack of dawn to go for a run. I lived on the Upper East Side of Manhattan and sometimes I'd run all the way to mid-town, which is about 50 blocks each way. It was exhilarating!

3 Crucial Keys to Business, Personal and Relationship Success

Achievement requires the risk of failure.  Therein lies the problem for many people.  Most people would rather do nothing than take the chance of falling flat on their face.  But that’s exactly the kind of thinking that keeps people feeling stuck, unsatisfied and like they haven’t accomplished anything of much significance in their lives.
