Women Strip Themselves in Public because Breastfeeding is Now a Crime in Georgia!

 

Breastfeeding your child in any manner in a public space, anywhere outside your home, is now a crime. A new public nudity ordinance states that a woman will be charged if she bares her breast to feed her child.

Who would have ever guessed this insanity?

Of course as we continue to try to tell the world that Georgia is not a backward state, or a third world country, the state legislatures pass this archaic misogynistic law.

Longtime Today show contributor Ann Curry, and one of our Most Powerful Moms, has officially begun her tenure as co-anchor on the show sitting beside Matt Lauer.

"I really feel like Cinderella. Ann Curry aka Cinderella," she told viewers, after opening the show by saying: "I'm Ann Curry and I'm in for... I guess nobody this morning. Me, myself and I. I can't believe it. It's such a thrill."

There’s been lots of buzz among the Most Powerful Moms in TV with lots of job changes. Katie Couric ending her five-year stint at CBS Evening News topped the charts. Where we should go and what would she do next. Couric had told a number of media outlets that she wanted to move into a talk format that would showcase her versatile talents must like her Today Show slot but still wanted the connection to a news division so she could periodically wear her journalism hat.

Ellen Alemany, CEO of Citizens Financial Group, and one of our Most Powerful Moms in Finance and Banking, was honored by the Foreign Policy Association [FPA] with the Corporate Social Responsibility Award this May.

The FPA was honoring the fact that Citizens employees have volunteered over 570,000 hours to charity and in 2010 the company supported over 2,000 nonprofit organizations.

President Obama Talks Workplace Equality

At a speech given at the annual national issues conference at the Democratic National Committee's Women's Leadership Forum President Obama spoke out on workplace equality saying that he is disappointed equal pay legislation hasn't yet been passed by Congress. 

He also highlighted in his speech what he believes his administration has accomplished for women, including changes in health care coverage to resisting pressure to cut federal funding for Planned Parenthood.
