Wellstar Health System
WellStar Health System saved employees more than $200,000 last year after it introduced free tax preparation services for those earning less than $42,000.
Great benefits got even better last year for working parents at this Georgia health-care system based in Marietta. Employees who give birth or adopt can now take 16 job-guaranteed weeks off (up from 14 in 2007) to welcome a new child, and there’s a $4,000 reimbursement (up from $2,500) for adoptive parents. Aware that 80% of staffers have caregiver responsibilities, the organization added childcare spaces at a YWCA in Hiram, complementing two on-site child-care centers in Marietta and Austell. On top of that, WellStar introduced backup care for just $2 to $4 per hour, doubling the annual allowance to 80 hours.President & CEO: Gregory Simone, MD
