Stanford University
Fantastic perks await parents who work on this university’s 8,180-acre campus. Its seven child care centers stay open from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and care for up to 1,000 little ones between the ages of 6 weeks and 8 years. Faculty members can use in-home backup care ($6 per hour) or try area centers ($15 per day, or $25 per family), up to 10 times per year. Dozens of on-site summer camps feed kids’ interest in photography, sports, debate and more. Employees get help paying for it all with annual child care subsidies worth up to $5,000 for (income-eligible) faculty and staff, or up to $20,000 for junior faculty members, who also get $1,000 for travel-related care. Everyone is eligible for $5,250 in annual tuition reimbursements, plus $800 to spend on fun courses (French, cooking, tai chi). When employees’ teens finally go to college, the university will pay up to $80,100 of their tuition.
