PwC
Top 5 Women have come so far in the past century—yet many still grapple with inherited cultural messages (preserve group harmony, don’t take risks) that inhibit their success. In two smart new campaigns, this audit, tax and advisory services firm highlights challenges facing diverse women and Latino professionals, providing advice from multicultural executives and staffers who have reconciled their own upbringings with the need for self-promotion and outspoken leadership in the business world. The same thoughtful approach is embedded in the firm’s education and training: its Accelerate initiative uses discussions and group exercises to help Asian associates and their managers enhance communication and networking skills, and leadership development and coaching sessions support Asian/Pacific Islander staff and their supervisors. The firm annually sends 25 to 30 associates to We’re About Success, the flagship program of Howard University’s Center for Accounting Education; it is also a key sponsor of the Association of Latino Professionals in Finance and Accounting.
