Merck
Women landed 42% of all promotions to manager, senior manager and executive at this pharmaceutical company in 2011 and made up 75% of those served by its new Global Mentoring pilot, which found top execs advising high-potential, diverse talent for a full year. For leaders, there’s a real benefit to helping women advance, as their compensation is affected by their ability to meet diversity goals. Female managers entering the senior leader pipeline may be selected for the Women’s Leadership Development Program, a collaboration with the Simmons College School of Management, through which they receive exposure to leadership and create
a support network.
