Keeping women engaged as they progress in their careers is a special focus for this insurance company, where they represent 36% of all employees at the assistant vice-president level and above (and more than half of all such hires). Its Women’s Leadership Network, launched by a task force of female executives in 2012, brings in industry speakers to inspire them and maintains programs that assist with their career development. The new nine-month Partners Mentoring Program also finds senior executives (including Chairman, President and CEO Roger Crandall) offering counsel to AVPs and VPs, with women making up half of those mentored.
