KPMG
24,000 families in need last year received a week’s worth of food through Feeding America from a KPMG donation, on behalf of its workers.
This New York City–based professional services firm is always seeking ways to increase its employees’ personal freedom. When it heard last year that remote workers had trouble connecting to the Internet on the fly, it shelled out for 3,000 wireless Aircards to help 13% of its total workforce log on from any location, with more to follow. Employees usually work with clients in highly individual ways, dictating their own schedules and meeting places. To keep women from ever feeling stuck, the Managing Career/Life Choices program helps rising senior associates map out long-term goals with an eye toward personal priorities. In a recent survey, 83% of the firm’s primary caregivers reported being able to take time off whenever they needed. Parents also receive deep discounts on up to 20 days of in-home and center-based backup care.
