Want to help out with a child’s classroom activities? This technology company gives parents four paid hours of volunteer time off per month, which they can use to assist educators. “It means I don’t have to stress when the teacher asks for parent helpers for a messy St. Patrick’s Day craft,” says Sara Lewis, an executive assistant in the international tax department, whose son is 7. Using flextime (as 80% of workers did last year) also helps moms stay involved, and at least 8% of the company works remotely at all times. Salaried employees receive up to 25 days of paid time off. Parents who need to find child care can contact the company’s resource and referral service; there’s a concierge program to help them complete other tasks.
