Goldman Sachs
Within the most prestigious blue-chip companies, a select group of employees always sets the tone for those around them. At this major bank, senior vice presidents and managing directors have formed the Multicultural Women’s Alliance, through which they oversee a leadership initiative for diverse employees. But that’s not the only way they promote inclusion: in new Be the Expert forums, managing directors learn about global diversity trends from the pros and spend time exploring the challenges faced by multicultural workers. The recently launched Subtle and Significant training course, which both VPs and MDs attend, also examines the ways in which employees’ attitudes shape their work environments. To help its junior vice presidents and analysts become more aware of diversity and grow more international in their thinking, the operations division offers the New Markets Mobility Exchange, an initiative that allows employees to work abroad in the bank’s new and emerging locations for up to six months.
