Plenty of companies have programs that help new moms readjust to work after becoming a parent, but few ever address what happens down the line. With its Survival vs. Sustainability program, introduced in November 2011, this financial services firm offers coaching and peer-mentoring to women who have been back from maternity leave at least 6 to 18 months. Through it they explore the value of maintaining work networks and keeping their careers on track while also creating a strong community of moms with whom they can discuss everyday challenges and triumphs. Participants say that the initiative really increases their focus and commitment to the firm.
