What We Love

In 2008, Deloitte chair Sharon Allen noted that firms with solid female representation on their boards (including hers, which is 33% female and 10% multicultural women) boast a “diversity of thought” that helps them surpass competitors’ sales by 42%. But it’s not solely about the profits for this accounting and consulting powerhouse, which annually surveys employees about its success at promoting diversity and inclusion. The firm also supports multicultural workers by providing financial backing for major multicultural organizations, hosting an annual Women of Color Management Consulting event and sponsoring professional conferences and seminars for Hispanic, African-American and Pan-Asian women. With its eye always on the future, it even offers mentoring programs at community colleges with heavily multicultural populations, hoping to target those interested in professional services.
