What We Love

Contrary to what (some) kids may think, their moms aren’t born knowing everything, which is why the biweekly roundtable discussions at this health care system’s headquarters are such a wonderful resource. Conversations staged by its Parents at Work Committee cover everything from how to handle bullying and discipline children under age 6 to single-parenthood strategies and healthy dinner ideas. New moms get 12 weeks off for maternity leave (with 8 weeks of short-term disability at partial pay); to help all parents, management just introduced another week of fully paid leave for anyone who gives birth or adopts. Lactation rooms at many locations make it easier for moms to breastfeed, while a biannual Baby Expo brings child care providers, family photographers, nutrition experts and foster care and adoption agencies to HQ.
