What We Love

Everything’s coming together for executive women at this health-care services company. Over the past few years, the organization has refined its hiring process so that it now includes a focus on increasing female representation at the top and has begun keeping better tabs on the numbers. It has also introduced Women Leading Change, an external development program that gives women at the director level and above a chance to receive executive coaching as well as to test their business acumen by tackling major projects. Women now hold two of the company’s five president positions (up from zero before these efforts were launched), and the number of senior women who have profit-and-loss responsibility has risen by an astounding 44%. “There is a momentum that you can feel,” says Stacy Butterfield, SVP and corporate controller. “It’s causing us to think bigger and bolder about our goals.”
