Capital One Financial
Anyone who’s ever had child care arrangements fall through knows how hard it is to find good caregivers in a pinch. To remove some of that stress for employees, this bank recently introduced a new backup care facility near its headquarters, where kids between the ages of 3 months and 12 years can attend art and music classes, romp on a playground, stage talent shows or simply enjoy family picnics. Parents may use the center up to 20 times per year, at no cost. (Employees in other locations can contact a resource and referral service for care ideas.) The bank also deposits up to $1,000 in employees’ dependent care accounts annually and reimburses them for up to $5,000 toward the cost of higher-education courses or other job-related training. In 2011, it eliminated co-pays at its four on-site medical clinics.
