From speed networking sessions to wine tastings and poker tournaments, the ConnectIn events hosted by the Women’s Initiative at this accounting and consulting firm have long given participants the chance to get to know colleagues. In 2012, their gatherings expanded to include mentoring, sponsorship and career development activities. To clarify the route that employees need to follow to make partner, the firm recently held a webinar on the topic for high-potential senior managers and directors and their office business line leaders. Afterward, attendees engaged in private discussions about career planning, with the leaders explaining to the others how to push their careers forward.
