Agnieszka Welkie is a glass half full type of person. Whether she is consulting with a client on retirement needs, volunteering at her children’s elementary school or organizing service projects in her community, it is hard not to notice her optimistic outlook on life. Born and raised in Poland, Agnieszka moved to Toronto when she was 17 to live with her aunt. While there, she earned her college degree, met her husband and began her career as an actuary at Aon Hewitt, the global human resource consulting business of Aon. In 2003 the couple moved to The Woodlands, Texas, where they currently reside.

Nine years and three children later, Agnieszka is a very powerful example of how it is possible to “have it all” in today’s world. Agnieszka’s commitment to her work is matched only by her dedication to playing an active role in the lives of her children. From making sure that a family dinner is held every night to serving as a volunteer coach for her oldest son’s soccer team, Agnieszka is always finding new ways to maximize her time with her family.

As if balancing work and family were not enough, Agnieszka also manages to find time to help others on a regular basis. She serves as a formal mentor to a younger, more inexperienced colleague at her office, volunteers in training sessions for new colleagues and even spearheaded the planning for her department’s volunteer activities for Aon’s Global Service Day in June.

Agnieszka’s positive outlook on all aspects of her life makes her an inspiration for her colleagues at Aon Hewitt and working parents everywhere. She is a clear demonstration of the power of optimistic thinking in today’s career-driven world.
