Women represent 74% of the employees and more than half of the top earners at the NAFE Top 10 Nonprofits (eight of which are health care companies this year; a university and a financial services firm round out the list). Every one of these winners trains managers to hire, advance and manage women; they also make sure managers know how to handle work life issues--such as flexible work arrangements--that can slow down the progress of women at less forward-thinking companies.
