Methodology

The Best Companies for Hourly Workers application was developed in partnership with Corporate Voices for Working Families, an organization devoted to improving the lives of working families. It includes 400 questions about the benefits and programs that hourly workers have access to. To be eligible, companies must have a minimum of 500 employees in the United States, and at least 50% of those workers must be hourly (non-exempt).

The Working Mother Research Institute creates a scoring algorithm based on the previous year’s benchmark results, which then determines the winners. Company profiles are pulled from the survey applications and reflect 2010 data.
