So the other day, I got home from work, and arrived at home to find my oldest daughter with a stick on jewel on the side of her nose. You know, the sticky jewels that 'back in my day' that little girls used to pretend their ears were pierced with?! Well... leave it up to my child to get creative and decide, at the age of 5, that she wants her nose pierced someday- but she is going to fake it for now with this glorious silver sticker.
"Mommy, I've seen pictures of you when you used to have your nose pierced!" she says with her big sh&% eating grin. (And truth be told, if I didn't work in the corporate scene, I'd probably still have it pierced!) So... she does have MINOR point.
Deep breath in, big sigh out... "Yes Syd, I did. But let's not talk about it until you turn 18, okay???"
"Okay, but I am going to wear the sticker until then." she smiles.
The sticker fell off before her bath time, and 'conveniently' got lost... deep breath in, big sigh out...
"Awww, mommy, where did my jewel go?!" Syd cries.
"I have no idea" I say, with my own sh*& eating grin. ;)
Ah, the joys of being a mommy!!! I'm going to have my hands full with her, I just know it!!!
