They are smart. They are busy. And they are pushing themselves to new limits in front of millions of TV viewers. Attorneys and college friends, Monique Pryor and Shawne Morgan, both 39, have formed a team to compete in CBS’ Amazing Race. The program kicked off on Valentine’s Day, February 14th. While the show launched against the Winter Olympics, this is an Olympic journey of sorts for these two working moms whose passions intersect with their goals to empower other moms to follow their lead.
Their first challenge was to be chosen from a pool of 30,000 applicants to be one of 11 teams competing in a race around the world for a chance to win a million dollars on the CBS hit television show.

Shawne Morgan, from Maryland, told us about being chosen for the challenge. She says she was “blessed,” along with her college friend and business partner Monique, to make the cut. Shawne knew that with her love of travel and natural vibe of "daring to be different," she would one day be on the show. Monique felt the same way.
Shawne lives with her husband Clif and their two children in Maryland. She is the CEO of her home-based business helping her family and others–particularly moms–create multiple streams of income and ultimately, generational wealth. Her business is www.itsyours.net and she runs a second consulting firm, ShawneMorgan.com. She continues to practice law as well.

Monique Pryor lives in New Jersey with her husband Eric and their two daughters. She says she launched her business, Moms Extraordinaire with it’s “me” logo to help women know “that it is possible to have it all and do what you love–even in high heels (ouch!).”
With children reaching school age, both women said, it was time to stretch their limits. They proudly show off their Mom-hood on T-shirts they wear during their adventures.

Of course, the big secret is how far will the Mom Team go? Stay tuned. Their adventures can be found at CBS under Amazing Race 16. Editor's Note: The Mom Team made it through to the second challenge and were forced out. But we love their spirit!
