Gifted moms are prized by this New York City–based law firm, which offers generous benefits to help retain them and welcomes back those who have left the fold. What We Love
Gifted moms are prized by this New York City–based law firm, which offers generous benefits to help retain them and welcomes back those who have left the fold. In 2008, all employees became eligible for at least six fully paid weeks of parental leave, and attorneys needing substantial time off can petition the firm for unpaid leaves of absence lasting up to five years, while still maintaining ongoing access to training and networking events. Flex and telecommuting are both supported here and were used by at least 80% of employees last year, while some 10% job-shared. Parents who work in the office find it easier when they know their kids are being cared for by licensed providers in their own homes or at 11 near-site centers, a perk made possible by the firm’s free backup-care program.
