Working Mother Media's - "What Moms Want" - Survey Results
Working mothers are actually quite happy, fulfilled and ambitious—largely because they ask for the changes they want, and are usually able to make those changes. Balance is a challenge, but moms are making it work. That's not to say there aren't a lot of challenges and stress—there are—but our survey shows that moms are NOT giving up.

To a certain degree, it's not the companies that are making life hard for working mothers. It's school schedules, the lack of affordable daycare and the lack of support in the community.

Despite all this, moms are actually doing a pretty good job finding time for themselves. Most exercise at least once or twice a week, and many work out three times a week. Almost all of them have a hobby or two, and many spend more than 10 hours a month on that hobby.
 
Working moms are happy:
78% of working moms call themselves fulfilled

Most working mothers have NOT sidelined their ambitions:
62% describe themselves as "very ambitious"
75% of working moms feel their bosses ARE supportive of their family needs
69% had asked for changes at work: among those, 74% got the changes they asked for  (most of those requests were for more flexibility
