You’re racking up the minutes on your mobile phone—conference calls for work, playdate plans, gossip with the girls. But is that safe? Maybe not, according to a large analysis of cell phone studies done by the Environmental Working Group. Cell phones have been linked with cancer, migraines and children’s behavior problems. To reduce your exposure to the electromagnetic radiation coming from your phone, follow these tips:
Use a headset or speaker. This allows you to keep the phone as far away from your body as possible.
Text, don’t talk. Phones use less power (and emit less radiation) when in text mode. Plus, you won’t need to put the phone to your head.
Limit your child’s cell phone use. Only let your children talk on their cells for crucial calls; children’s brains absorb twice as much radiation as adults’.
