Linda J. Addonizo, MD
Director, Program for Pediatric Cardiomyopathy, Heart Failure and Transplantation, New York Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital
Recipient of the Children's Health Advocate Award
Dr. Linda J. Addonizio never set out to have a big career. “I set out to take care of patients,” says the mother of three adult children. “My career and the rest just happened.” Addonizio started the pediatric heart transplant program at new York Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital, where the first successful heart transplant on a child was performed in 1984. She says, “My team is awesome and makes coming to work with very sick, dying children manageable because we all work together as one to help save these kids."
