Why We Love Her
Working as a VP and bank branch manager and raising two teenage boys seems like enough to keep any woman busy, but Jenny also manages her sons’ soccer teams, serves as the secretary for the Calvert soccer association and works on the committee for the harvest ball to raise money for Calvert Memorial hospital. She’s the VP of the athletic booster club and committee chair for concession stands at school games. What really won us over is that her sons nominated her for this award in an impressive show of their love and appreciation for their hardworking, dedicated mom.
Q: What’s your best advice for a new mom returning to work?
A: Make sure when you come home from work that you take at least a half hour to spend with your children without distractions each day. They grow up so fast and you can't get it back. But if you spend that time each day it will let them know how important they are to you and they look forward to that time!
Q: What’s your biggest working-mom confession?
A: Several years ago when I got promoted to manager and had a lot of new responsibilities, I got very busy at work and forgot to pick my son up from an after-school activity. The school had to call me and let me know my son was still at school. It was awful and I felt so bad!
Q: What’s your best tip for keeping your home life running smoothly?
A: Communication! Each day we talk to each other and discuss what's going on for that day. Cell phones are our best friend.
