Proven Memory Booster

You've probably heard that regular exercise improves your memory. (You just can't remember where you heard it!) Now, new research reveals why: Exercise targets a region of the brain associated with age-related memory decline, and imaging shows a growth of neurons in this area following a workout, explain researchers at Columbia University Medical Center. "No previous research has identified which region of the brain is most affected by exercise," says lead study author Scott A. Small, MD, an associate professor of neurology. "Our next step is to identify the exercise regimen that  helps most to improve cognition and reduce normal memory loss." Until then, just remember to break a sweat however you can.
