Today is day four of being part of a 10%. In high school, it meant being in the top 10% of your graduating class. Today for me, it means being a part of the workforce that is unemployed. I've had a great career thus far, a working mother with full-time positions all along. It was inevitable perhaps that the downsizing trends of corporate America would eventually catch up with me, and yes, I am in good company with many other professionals. Yet, well, it is really strange to not get on a train every morning and worry about the commute if it snows or if the snow will cause a delay in schools opening. The house is very quiet, disturbed only by the typing I do on this rather noisy keyboard until the kids come home from school. So my new job as a working mother is to find a new, fantastic position. Armed with my new Blackberry Curve, and the fantastic ipad, away I go.

Stacy Sass McAnulty is a working mom who almost looks forward to her lengthy daily train ride as a way to catch up on books and watch TV shows on her itouch. When she isn't putting together marketing partnerships for Parenting and Babytalk magazines, Stacy is cheering on her marching band son, Ryan or escorting her daughter Charlotte to anime festivals.
